  • The Five Little Mumans*

Submitted by William on Sat, 11/28/2009 - 11:41am

We were having fun at Grandma Barb's house. Who was there is Tiernan, Caedmon, Brayan, Ariella, Auntie Dawn and Nathan. We played outside first. We played football outside and a war outside. Then we had a fight outside. Hi-ya! Then we went by the river and throwed sticks and pinecones, plinks** and rocks in the river. Tiernan went out with me, Dad, Grandpa Ron and Nathan to the river. Then we had to come in before it was dinner time. Dinner was a big hit! We jumped on the bed in the closet [Leah's old bedroom]. We took our shirts off because we were monkeys. We were humans, really. You'll see the video of us jumping on the bed after this blog.

The end. That's a true story.

    *NOTE: Mumans are monkey-humans
**NOTE: Plinks are little tiny rocks that say "plink" when they land in the water

  • The Silliest Story of NOW, NOW, NOW-NOW-NOW, NOW SHE CAN'T GET IN!

Submitted by William on Tue, 11/10/2009 - 3:38pm

Once upon a time, there was a little boy and girl named William and Eliana. And William was five and Eliana was one. And William's mom, named Sara, telled William to go potty and wash his hands because he had to eat lunch. And William goed up and heard Eliana coming and closed the door as quick as he could tight. And then William said, in a low voice like a gorilla, "NOW, NOW, NOW-NOW-NOW, NOW SHE CAN'T GET IN!" And then William hopped to the toilet like a rabbit. The end. That's a true story.

    Hi William
That IS the silliest story. Sometimes it's the best to be the oldest and the fastest and the biggest.
Are you going to write stories on your blog that aren't true?

  • school's new site word: my!

Submitted by William on Thu, 10/15/2009 - 4:16pm

    Chapter 1
School's new site word is "my"! Now we have three site words: my, the, and a.

    Chapter 2
"My" is a good site word. I love that word. And Mrs. Gray, my teacher, putted "my" up to some objects and we had to say, "My eraser, my marker, my teapot, my (whatever you can think of)." Like "my head" or "my umbrella" or "my forehead" or "my hand" or "my finger" or "my fingernail" or "my mom" or "my baby sister" or "my dad" or "my brother" or "my dinosaurs" or "my house" or "my Wii" or "my voice" or "my hair" or "my picture" or "my camera."

    Chapter 3
I have fun at kindergarten. We do all sorts of fun stuff. There we have friends, and me and Kaden are second cousins because Mom and Kaden's dad were first cousins. And me and me are friends. Do you know why me and me are friends? Because there's another William in my class. The other William's name is William N.

    Chapter 4
Like I was just telling Mom, if Mrs. Gray gets our blog, she'll say, "Wow, there's a lot of our site words on here! And even ones we don't have yet! And even some other grade ones!"

The end. All of those chapters are true.

    Chapter 4
I played with Jake in the backyard when we were throwing snowballs. And when I got in the backyard, I made a snow angel! And then I said, "Jake, Chloe, look what I made!" So they came over and they said, "Wow! How do you make that snow angel?"

  • Going to Nelson Farm, Having a new baby cousin, and Going to the dentist

Submitted by William on Fri, 09/25/2009 - 3:00pm

    What a handsome smile

    Contents:
    1 Going to Nelson Farm
2 Having a New Cousin Jack David Lanz
    3 Going to the Dentist

    Chapter 1
Last week I went to Nelson Farm because I had a field trip. And I saw some animals, farm animals. And I got a turn to swing on a rope. My teacher said, "One, two, three, JUMP OFF!" And when she said "three," I jumped off the rope. I landed in the hay! Do you know why they put hay down there instead of concrete? Because they wanted me to not get hurt! I got to pet a cow.

    Chapter 2
Yesterday, when we were out of the car at Target and we were going to the door, Adam called my mom and he said I had a new baby cousin, Jack David Lanz. Isn't that funny!?! My middle name is David, too!

    Chapter 3
Today I went to the dentist and got five fillings. The dentist sang a song while he was getting my fillings in. I didn't hear him singing because he was singing so quiet. And he always says I have "groovy teeth" that's why I got cavities.

    All those chapters are true.

I helped William insert a timeline into his chapters and made a few suggestions for this post. We didn't want to miss anything. What an exciting week we've had! I started back to school last week, too, so it's been busy. We were excited to get Adam's call about the new baby. Jack was just a little squirt at 4lbs 6oz. I'm sure he'll catch up quickly now that he's born. We hear he's doing great and wish we were closer so we could meet him.

  • My first day of kindergarten

Submitted by William on Tue, 08/25/2009 - 10:05pm

    William's first day of kindergarten

    Chapter 1
My first day of kindergarten was fun! I learned my numbers, which I already know. And I learned my alphabet, which I already know. AND I played a game, a ball game where you roll the ball to someone and they say their name. That game is called "Name Ball." The End.

    Chapter 2
I had chapel at my school - part school and part church! We learned that Jesus is our friend. We sang songs at chapel. And everybody who had a birthday on August got to stand up in a line in front of the group and get a pencil. The End.

    Chapter 3
At chapel we said one Prayer. The End.

    Chapter 4
After chapel we goed back to my school room and then we goed back out of my school room and we goed outside and played on the playground but first we had to wait behind the red line which was the safety line and we waited for cars to pass and we saw there was no cars. We crossed to the door of the gate to the playground and we played, played, played! The End.

I wanted to thank Grandma Barb for coming over early to be with our sick little Ellie while I took William to his first day school. And I also thank Grandma Lanz for watching William on Monday so Ellie and I could spend some quality time at the doctor's office. William really enjoyed his last day of summer vacation playing at the splash pad and watching Michael's rocket launch! We've had quite the week so far! Today was a very exciting, happy day! I know William is going to love kindergarten. I was a little teary driving home, mostly because I was thinking of all my kindergarten years past and knowing how many great things are in store for him this year (and maybe there was a little lack of sleep involved, too). With a teacher who is brave enough to open the water table to 23 brand new kindergartners on the first day of school, I have no doubt that there are many great adventures to come!
