  • It's my birthday! Two stories

Submitted by William on Fri, 08/20/2010 - 12:07pm

Yesterday we went to the MN zoo with my mom, Seth, Robbie, Forrest, Hallie, and Ellie. At the zoo, we played on the bone playground and the Woodland Adventure playground. We saw bears and a slideshow of pictures of bears. The bears were fishing when we were watching them and we saw exploding volcanoes (they were not real ones, they were only squirting water that's how I could tell they weren't real). We saw butterflies. And we saw divers in the fish tanks. We saw dolphins and sharks. The End.

    Now onto the next story...

It's my birthday! I'm 6! I was going to Taco Johns, but I changed my mind to Space Aliens. The End.

Me and Eliana had a blast with our new "Soak and Splash!" And I just had a little too much fun because I ran on the slip and slide and bumped my head. That's all I need to tell you about that. But there's something else I need to tell you. And I had another little too much fun because almost every time my knee started hurting. And we got to use it two times today!

  • The Play Date

Submitted by William on Sat, 05/29/2010 - 5:11pm

[I am honored that William asked me to start out his blog entry. William's last day of kindergarten was on Friday. He had been wanting to invite the whole class of 23 children over for a play date. So we finally decided to go for it! Memorial Day weekend seemed like a good time to invite everyone. Seven were able to come, 6 of the 8 boys. It worked out just great! -Sara]

The kids whenever someone was coming they went right up into my room and hided. And the water gun fight worked out good. And the woodworking worked out just right. All of it worked out just right. We ate root beer float ice cream cones and watched a Veggie Tales movie from the projector screen. That was a really good plan. Then we could put on projecting puppet shows on the screen and we were all wild. And outside we were running away from the puppy, Belle. And after the movie, we got goodie bags. The end. That was a true story.

Note: What if a whole chapter book was a whole sentence?

  • The Bird Who Lost Its Shadow

The bird who lost its shadow

One day a bird was in its nest. The bird lived in Minnesota. Then it got a little cold out, so she brought her nest with eggs in it to South Dakota because it was warm there. And then she looked behind her and there was no shadow! Then she went back to Minnesota and it was winter time there. Then she quickly said, "Come here, Shadow." Shadow listened to her. The bird flew back to South Dakota. Then she looked behind her and there was her shadow. The end. That's a fake story.

Note: I really wrote that story but it's a fake one.

    Pedestrian helix

One day I went jumping on the rocks with Dad and we went for a picnic in the middle under the spiral walking bridge. And after we went on a picnic we jumped on the rocks by the Mississippi River. And Eliana went with. And Mom was at home because she had book club. I jumped to the closest rock to the rapids and I jumped back to get some more rocks. And then I jumped back to the closest rock to the rapids and I threw those rocks in the river. And then I jumped back to get more rocks and then I jumped back to the closest rock to the rapids. I threw those rocks in the river. And then I jumped back to get more rocks and then I jumped back to the closest rock to the rapids. I threw those rocks in the river. The end. That's a true story.

Note: And we jumped back up, too, to have the chocolate milk from our picnic.
Note 2: Our picnic was from Burger King.

  • Saint Patrick's Day Trap

Submitted by William on Sat, 03/20/2010 - 4:00pm

The other day my friends at my school wanted to catch a leprechaun. So we built a trap in the bathroom. And then the next day was St. Patrick's Day. And then when we came in, and we looked in the bathroom, our trap was gone! And instead of our trap, close to the corner of the bathroom, there was a pot of *gold!

*Note: The gold was our snack - crackers you could dunk in cheese.

The end. That was a true story.

  • Survivor Challenge

Submitted by William on Sun, 02/21/2010 - 2:40pm

At trivia, when they were getting ready, I did a Survivor challenge jumping over the mats and running through the legs of the table. And then when Michael came home, I was running across a mat and seeing how long I could stand on the rolling mat without falling. Oh, and by the way, I was holding out my arms. The End. That was a true story.

    Trivia in 3D

    Pull-start Diesel won 3rd place!

  • Having fun in January

Submitted by William on Sat, 02/06/2010 - 7:59pm

There is snow outside and I said, "Yay! It's January! We can play in the snow!" I hope that big hill is still here. We can sled down it and I think we can build jumps on it. And we can run and then jump in the sled and then I will start slidding down! Dad ran and jumped into the sled and then he started heading down. And he hit a crack and the sled flipped and the sled landed sideways and Dad landed kneeling holding the sled. And that's the story of having fun in January!

    Ugh! She's heavy!
  • My Happy Christmas with the gift I wanted... a Nerf gun!

Submitted by William on Mon, 12/28/2009 - 2:02pm

My ladybug ornament crawling around me in circles

At Grandma Lanz's for Christmas, I got to open my presents. The first present I opened was for Bill (that's me) and from Uncle Joe. Joe calls me Bill. And I opened it and it was a Nerf gun! And then I said to Joe, "How did you know I wanted a Nerf gun?!" And the next present I opened was from Grandma and Grandpa. It had a pop-up human body book and it was really cool! It had all sorts of human body parts! And it was really, really, really, really cool. And the box had a Rockband shirt and cool pants in it too. The shirt and the pants were really, really, really cool too!

It looks like I have a grass hula skirt on

In Arkansas for Christmas, we spied on the parents. We were pretty sneaky until Christmas. Hannah came over on Christmas (not my neighbor Hannah, it was a different Hannah) and each time she looked, we screamed and ran back into our hiding spot. It was really fun! Tap, look, scream, "Aaaaaah!" run. We stayed there for five days! That was for the first time of Christmas, not the way first time. The way first time of Christmas would be when I was a baby. The end. That's a true story.
