  • My new swimming lessons

Submitted by William on Fri, 01/11/2013 - 5:49pm

Monday I went to swimming lessons. I liked it a lot, especially when I learned the challenging backstroke and whip kick. But some bad things happened too. The water slapped my leg. And (good news) some bad things I forgot. Best part, Jeremiah and Grace came too!!!!!!

The end. That's a true story.

  • My Hissers

    (me) :D
    (hissers) ):0 hissssssssssssss X3

    Hissbliss

I have three Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches. I named them Hissbliss, Hisser and Hissy. Hissbliss is the big one. He also has an antenna cut off. Hisser has the longest antennae. Hissy has short antennae. To people who love bugs: super cool! To people who don't: super scary. The bug guy gave them to me.

    Hissy

The bug guy's name is Bruce. He does little presentations about bugs. He has more hissing cockroaches. He has cecropia moth caterpillars with little stiff colorful mace balls all over their backs. They don't hurt you. None of the things the bug guy has can hurt you. Except the terantula and the scorpion. One of the terantulas was crabby, so we had to hold its cage. The other one we got to hold out of its cage. Why would we get to hold the scorpion out of its cage? The bug guy also has giant millepedes.

I feed my hissers a mixture of dog food, cat food and fish food. You can feed them most pet food, vegetables, and fruits.

I built a playground for my hissing cockroaches. It has little hideouts and they like to hide. I built a big hideout to go along with the little hideouts. I call it climbers and hiders.

  • ORIGAMI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Submitted by William on Thu, 06/28/2012 - 5:22pm

Some new origami!!!!!!!! Magical diamond! A genie lamp double pocket! Double squares! The magical diamond and genie lamp double pocket are made from the fortune tellers.

    How to make them:

    Double squares
Take a strip of paper. Fold it in half the short way. Flip it over. Fold it in half the short way again. Pull out the middle to the open side and then it will look like two squares overlapping.

    Double squares

    Genie lamp double pocket
Fold a square piece of paper into a triangle. Unfold. Fold it into a triangle the other way. Unfold. Fold the corners into the center. Flip over. Fold the corners into the center. Fold in half. Unfold. Fold in half the other way. Put your thumb and index finger in one pocket. Then do the same with the other side. Push together. Now you have a fortune teller. Push in all the pockets of the fortune teller. Then unfold into a square. Fold into a triangle. Then tape the top corners together. Then push at the other corners a little. If you want, you can tape a genie to come out of one side.

This photo of the genie lamp was edited a lot, but it turned out just the same!

    Magical diamond
Make a fortune teller. Push in all the pockets. Draw a design on two sides. And leave the other sides blank. To use: Start with the blank side up. Then turn it so it looks thin. Then unfold it (do this quickly).

The end. That is a true story.

    If Army Ants Invaded
    by William

    If army ants invaded
They would eat everything in their way
They would eat a corner of a rug
They would eat a whole bath tub
    They might eat a door
    They would eat even more!

  • Our Vacation

Submitted by William on Fri, 03/30/2012 - 4:24pm

    Sunday-
    History Museum:
We went to a lot of exhibits. We went in a grain elevator. In an old-time house exhibit, we sat on a bed where the words "Sit Here" were projected. Then, a lady's voice said, "I don't know what's wrong with this bed, but every time you turn over, the bed falls down." And we felt the bed fall down! There was also a piggy bank that we could put giant coins in, then we would pull a lever and all the coins would fall out. (It would be cool if they turned into real coins.)

    Water Park of America:
All the water slides were really fun, especially the family tube slide, which always had a really long line. I also liked the lazy river. I went boogie boarding. This is what it looked like.

    Monday-
    Sculpture Garden:
It had a giant spoon and cherry sculpture. The handle of the spoon was on the ground and the other end was on an island in the middle of a pond that had ducks in it. We took lots of cool pictures and we want you to check them out in the photo album. I especially want you to see the picture of me squatting with two heads!

    The Works Museum:
I played the light harp. Eliana did, too. I played K'Nex. We built cars to race. Eliana built a wall. I helped her a little. We saw a robot that just kept looking at us. We moved and its sensor sensed us moving, so it turned that direction. We just couldn't get it to keep its eyes off us. Finally I just ran far away from its sensor, then ran to the right, and ran back to the robot. It didn't turn to look at me. The Works Museum was really fun.

    Holiday Inn:
The Holiday Inn had a diamond shaped pool. We swam in it. It also had a triangle shaped hot tub. We swam in it. (I didn't really swim in it, but I kind of sat with my legs in it because it was too hot. They should turn the heat down.) They had two big beds for all of us. We slept on them. The Holiday Inn was pretty fun. (Wasn't this section of the blog pretty funny?)

    Tuesday-
    Mall of America:
I played at Lego Land. I made a Star Wars ship, cops and robber Lego guys, and a robot that had a chainsaw and an ax. Eliana covered a giant Lego play station with Legos.

We went on a few rides. Eliana did a few more rides than I did because I didn't want to go on them. But one of them Mom made me go on. Some of the fun rides I liked were the mini roller coaster, the ferris wheel, the hot air balloon ride (though it made me feel sick), and the merry-go-round. The merry-go-round had a dragon that I wanted to ride, but a little girl got there first. I rode a horse instead, which is common for merry-go-rounds, but a dragon isn't that common.

The entire trip was pretty fun! The end. That is a true story.

  • Scratch

Scratch is a place to make video games. Explode The Cat was the first game I made. Here are some rules from my rule book: the rules are simple all you have to do is...1. the cat is running to the bomb 2. you click the bomb for it to go off.

  • Dog programming this website!

Submitted by William on Fri, 03/09/2012 - 5:37pm

Whenever Mom leaves her computer open when she goes out of the house, Max sometimes types in google. Today he was programming this website! He opened a few other places (I don't know where he clicked, but I'm thinking it was Start) and he typed "-0p". I think he was trying to program this website by doing that. Maybe he thought that it would make our website more dog friendly. Now mom thinks he's got an internet addiction.

  • Animal Habitat and Rain Forest Ride

Submitted by William on Sat, 02/18/2012 - 3:22pm

Animal Habitat: I started off with my animal habitat. I even more started off by getting the ceramic animals from Henley. (Henley is my friend Haskell's sister.) I even MORE started off by making a collection of junk I used to build stuff. Surprisingly, only the things to make the trees, except the tape and the cotton string, were in my collection. It's kind of like the board was in my collection. Grandpa Ron let me have it and I put a bunch of stickers on it, but then I took them off to make my animal habitat. (A long time after I put the stickers on it. Not right away.)

    Animal Habitat

Rain Forest Ride: It's a big track that goes through the animal habitat (which is a rain forest).

    Rain Forest Ride

In the picture, you can't see the turn, but there is one. It makes the cars go on a wall. (Not literally.)

    The turn

It starts with a shark car. Then the shark car triggers a race car. Then the race car goes through the animal habitat.

    King car

Then it triggers the king car. The king car goes around the turn and the track ends up almost where it started.

P.S. I put a valentine in the koala's tree from the horse and it says, "I love you.
    -Horse"
The end. That is a true story.
