  • Momma Will You?

Submitted by Eliana on Thu, 02/24/2011 - 9:01pm

One of my favorite books to read is one called "Momma Will You?" In that book a little boy (who I call William) asks his mom if she'll do all sorts of things from milk the cow to dress the cat like their baby (who I call Eliana). The momma in the story says, "Maybe we will dress the cat, if she won't run away." So today my momma and I tried to dress the cat.

So pretty in Hello Kitty's dress

And guess what? She didn't run away! I think she always wanted to know what it was like to wear clothes. Mommy says maybe she thinks she's a person. We even got her into two different outfits! It was the highlight of my day. Don't worry, Hero got lots of treats afterward for playing so nicely with us.

  • My friends

Me with my friend Katie at Trivia weekend

Katie and her parents came to trivia this weekend and we played for a long time. It was even nice enough to go outside for a while. Our team came in fourth, but it was close this year and we were in first for a lot of the time. At least that's what I hear. I was at Grandma and Grandpa's half the time. Mostly I just like the first place trophy that Mommy brought home. I can't tell that those numbers say 2007.

Me with my imaginary friend Caiden

I played with my friend Caiden at my house today. I gave him a chocolate heart valentine and he shared it with me. He's a good friend. That's him sitting next to me at dinner, in case you couldn't see him. He likes chicken nuggets dipped in honey and broccoli. My parents like how well mannered he is and the fact that he is completely potty trained. He went upstairs after dinner and went potty all by himself! At night he slept under my pillow. He was such a nice boy to have around today, maybe he'll stay a while.

  • Baby Lily Stuff

Mommy was a upset this morning when she saw that William wrote on my stuff. She's always reminding me to write on paper. But she felt a little better when I told her, "It say, 'Baby Stuff' and 'Baby Lily Wipes'." That's how she knew that I wanted William to do that. She couldn't be mad at him for teaching me to read.

P.S. Ever since my cousin Lily was born, all my babies have been named "Lily."

  • Doctor

Submitted by Eliana on Mon, 01/31/2011 - 2:40pm

Today I went to the doctor for my annual well check. It was good timing because I'm well from the last time I was sick and I needed to get rechecked anyway. But it was bad timing because I lost a little weight while I was sick. I wonder what percentile I'd be if I was still 26 pounds. Since I lost half a pound I was in the 4th percentile for weight. But for height I was 15th! I'm 35 3/4 inches tall. The doctor was happy to see that I could tell her how old I am and copy the shapes she drew. I got to do a hearing and vision check, which was pretty tricky. Not that I can't see, but there are lots of directions to follow and questions to answer. I could hear the beeps in my ears and my answers kept getting quieter and quieter, so they think I'm hearing them just right. Mommy had told me no shots today, but it turned out that they did want to give me one shot. When Mommy asked if it was okay with me, I said yes. I wanted to get a shot just like Corduroy when he goes to the doctor in the book. I whimpered a little bit when the nurse gave me the shot, but I right away wanted to see the band-aid and I loved the bubbles the nurse blew. Now my butt hurts a little bit, I mean my leg. I keep forgetting. Mommy was confused at first why I was saying my butt hurts. I went to school after the doctor and painted a picture. I was late, but I was glad I got there in time for snack. I had to miss school last week when I was sick. I was really sad to miss it and happy to be back! Hopefully I'll stay healthy now so I don't have to miss any more school!

I like to tie my baby up like they do in the Babies movie.
  • Today I turned 3!

Submitted by Eliana on Fri, 01/07/2011 - 10:48pm

"How are you? How are you?" This is what I greeted Mommy by singing when she picked me up from daycare at noon. I really liked that new verse of the happy birthday song because now I am three! I have been saying I'm three ever since my first party on Saturday. And I still have one more tomorrow. But today was my real birthday and I got to celebrate with my friends at daycare. I got to bring a treat to share. I asked for animal crackers and Mommy got the frosted ones with sprinkles! We did some painting at daycare, too. I painted a birthday cake. Speaking of cakes, when I got up from my nap, I helped Mommy make a cake for my party tomorrow. I cracked the eggs! When it was done baking, I tasted some that Mommy cut off to make the shape of Hello Kitty. It was yummy. I told Mommy earlier in the day that I didn't need any more presents and that I had enough already, but I got one anyway. I was happy to get a shirt and diaper for my baby! Unfortunately, I noticed right away that she needed pants and gave a quick call to my grandma. Tomorrow my grandparents are coming to celebrate with me. I know that will mean even more presents and I guess that's okay. As long as they sing happy birthday and I get to blow out even more candles!

    Look who's three!
  • My favorite words

Submitted by Eliana on Wed, 12/01/2010 - 1:01pm

I'm getting to be quite a chatterbox. I talk in mostly complete sentences of around 5 words. Some of my favorite words are:

    * Even - a multipurpose word; good for making any sentence longer even, even, even; can be used as an affirmative response even
    * Oh, my goodness! - and along those same lines...
    * Gosh!
    * Really - another great word for adding length and emphasis, like when you really, really, really don't think Daddy should have another cookie.
    * Delicious! - to be used frequently when eating desserts like ice cream or Oreos.

Now I'm going to watch more tv. I thought Mommy was about to turn it off so I said, "Don't! Don't turn it off! Never again!" I must have been pretty convincing in my argument because she's letting me watch a few more minutes. I'll talk to you later!

  • Buddy the Drummer

Submitted by Eliana on Sun, 11/21/2010 - 9:52pm

This week was National Education Week at my school. There were lots of fun things going on.

On Monday I got to bring a stuffed animal friend to class and have my picture taken with it. I brought my monkey. We made name tags for our stuffed animals just like we make for ourselves and our moms and dads. My Monkey got to sit by my teacher Janie's Big Bear during snack time and while I played with my friends.

On Thursday my mom and I made a special trip to school to see Buddy the Drummer. He played on his big African drum in the gym. It was really loud! At first I covered my ears. Then I took mom's hand and pulled her closer to the front so I could dance with the other kids. It was lots of fun. At dinner I didn't even hesitate when Daddy asked what I did today. I told him all about Buddy the Drummer. Today I started singing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star the Buddy way. Mommy made a video so you could see my Buddy style.

  • Tiny 'tini

Submitted by Eliana on Tue, 11/02/2010 - 7:29pm

Daddy asked Mommy if she wanted a martini this evening before dinner. Mommy said, "That sounds awesome!" and I said, "Want 'tini, too!" So Daddy made tiny 'tinis for me and William with milk and chocolate syrup in the shaker. They were yummy.
